Отделение одной электрической цепи от другой при помощи двойной или усиленной изоляции, или основной изоляции и электрического защитного экрана.
Электрическое защитное разделение используют в тех случаях, когда следует разделить электрические цепи так, чтобы в случае повреждения основной изоляции опасной токоведущей части в одной электрической цепи не возникло её электрическое соединение с проводящими частями других электрических цепей. В нормативной и правовой документации установлено, что электрическое защитное разделение выполнено, если электрические цепи отделены друг от друга при помощи двойной или усиленной изоляции, а также посредством основной изоляции и электрического защитного экрана, который подлежит защитному заземлению. Электрическое защитное разделение реализовано в разделительных трансформаторах и в безопасных разделительных трансформаторах.

Открытая проводящая часть представляет собой доступную прикосновению проводящую часть электрооборудования, которая, в отличие от токоведущих частей, не находится под напряжением при нормальных условиях. Человек и животные, находящиеся в здании, имеют многочисленные контакты с открытыми проводящими частями, во время которых они не подвергаются опасности поражения электрическим током. Если произошло повреждение основной изоляции опасной токоведущей части, открытая проводящая часть может оказаться под напряжением. Тогда она будет представлять реальную угрозу для человека и животных, которые прикоснулись к ней. К открытым проводящим частям, прежде всего, относят металлические оболочки и доступную прикосновению арматуру электрооборудования класса 0 и класса I, например, металлические корпусы холодильников, стиральных машин, электрических плит, металлическую арматуру светильников и др.

1) Part of a city at or near the centre, especially a slum area where poor people live in bad housing.
2) City centres of many industrialized countries which exhibit environmental degradation. The numerous and highly competitive activities entailing land use overwhelm the limited space and create a situation of overcrowding, functional incompatibility and cultural degradation. Inner city areas have a high level of commercial specialization, a large number of offices and a sizeable daytime population. At the same time, city centres generally remain a sort of ghetto for a permanent, low-income population living in run-down housing and enjoying little in the way of public services and civic amenities. The concentration of service industries inevitably entails the replacement of traditional housing and shops by office blocks, the provision of basic utilities at the expense of civic amenities and the provision of major access roads which eat up urban space. Structures of historic origin are often unable to meet modern requirements and, notwithstanding their value, frequently face demolition.
